Earlier this year, Dan was a featured speaker at the 14th National Forum for Customer Based Marketing Strategies in Las Vegas, Nevada. In September 2008, he was a speaker at the 2008 SHSMD Conference in San Francisco.
Dan’s presentation at the 2008 Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development conference (SHSMD) was a highly practical review of the need for healthcare marketers to take on the challenge of promoting and marketing their work to internal clients, stakeholders and to peers within the industry. It is not enough to do the work; by marketing the work we build equity and value for the marketing function within the organization.
In October, at the 2008 NESHCo Conference, Dan partnered with Brooke Tyson Hynes of Tufts Medical Center (Boston) as keynote speakers to identify the key elements of a successful patient safety campaign within a hospital or medical center. Dan and Brooke used the current Tufts patient safety campaign as a case study. The Tufts “speak bubble” campaign can be viewed online at http://www.SpeakupWashup.com.
